12/31/04- Last day of the year...bright and sunny in Seattle. I look at the news and all the destruction caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia. Dead children lined up on the beach as surviving parent search for the faces of their own dead children. Are we on the cusp of a world change. I know that sounds Art Bellish, but something is going on. - 12/30/04- Finally getting some new episodes of Go-Kustom TV off the old 'puter. I haven't done much editing on the show since I started working on the Hot Rod Girls Save The World trailer and the Yoga DVD (see below). End of the year catch up- I guess. Got some good news from a few national magazines about them doing blurbs on Hot Rod Girls Save The World. Seems the trailer is helping get some attention for the upcoming film. - 12/27/04- Printing stills for a new comic book version of Hot Rod Girls Save The World. It's not so easy converting a full screenplay into graphic novel format. It could take awhile. Also heard a internet rumor that one of our earliest songs "Big Dub" (recorded as Kill Switch...Klick) was featured on the film Head Body In Topless Bar. I've got to get a copy and see if it is true. We did a demo session with a guy named Russell Zieker who owned a label called Urge Ltd. back in 1992 or 1993. He had some publishing rights to the songs, so maybe he arranged it. -
12/26/04- My wife got me a MicroKorg synth for X-mas. What a cool little keyboard. Has a built in vocoder and real big sounds for such a small unit. Also got new Converse Hi-Tops and the new U2 album. Man those guys are still crankin' out the tunes. I think they're going for the Rolling Stones "most years in a rock band" record. From the '80's only R.E.M. has been around as long and they are down one original member. - 12/25/04- Merry X-Mas peoples! - 12/24/04- Took the family to see the Incredibles last night. It was ummm pretty... incredible. Surprisingly. - 12/16/04- Still working on the Yoga DVD. Man this turned out to be a big project. I had to cap the editing fees. I also did a bit of work on our old house. We decided to sell it. Sad, but necessary. It goes on the market in a few days. That house was more than a place to live, it was our home. It was small- only 1,100 sq. feet including the converted garage, but we fought so hard to qualify and get the loan...if we get the asking price we may break even. Being a home owner is a big deal. It's like this right of passage into a d bigger financial world. I think if we buy again it will be farther from the city. As cool as Seattle is- I really get tired of the traffic and sprawl. Maybe the Coast next time... - 12/12/04- Alot going on. Besides finishing up the Yoga DVD, my wife and I have been getting our old house ready to rent or sell. We've had a few interested people call about renting, but selling may be the thing to do right now. Houses in Seattle are scarce and at a premium- people start bidding wars over almost any fixer upper under $400,000. We've put so much time and money into our house it'd be a drag to sell it, but still I can't handle the thought being a landlord. - 12/09/04- Still working on the Yoga DVD. - 12/08/04- Still working on the Yoga DVD. - 12/06/04- Did a quick internet interview with Seattle Magazine about Hot Rod Kulture and Hot Rod Girls Save The World. It was for an article about the scene in the Northwest, not just an interview with my own self. -
- 12/02/04- Been working solid on a Yoga DVD project for a client. Everything else has been on hold. I hope to have it finished this weekend... - 11/25/04- Happy Turkey Day! We got a nice little write-up in Fangoria Magazine yesterday- about our upcoming feature Hot Rod Girls Save The World. I copied the text and posted it on Go-Kustom at hrgfangorianews.html - 11/22/04- Been working the last week off and on- on a Yoga DVD for a teacher in Bellevue, WA. It's my first serious paying gig- video production wise. Alot of work, but beats the hell outta my regular day job. - 11/11/04- Every night, right before I fall asleep, I've been writing a little on the Korg ESX-1 for the new KsK record. Since it's so portable, I just take it to bed and write for a half hour or so. With the headphones it doesn't even wake the Mrs. I've got at least 15 basic song structures written already. This is an awesome little box! -
11/07/04- Great shoot last night! Everyone rocked the f'in house! The cat fight was awesome as well. Much appreciation to Melene and Heather for rolling around in the cold mud for an hour plus. Now its time to clean up the mess...man those cats can drink! Flavors of the evening PBR and Mike's Hard Lime. You can check out the stills from the shoot at www.go-kustom.com/stills11-06.html - 11/05/04- Ran around all night getting props for the big party scene we are shooting tomorrow. $100 worth of Tiki Torches!?! I also finally upgraded to OS X for my Mac- had to in order to run DVD Studio Pro (which I also picked up for a DVD freelance project I'm working on). Mac is making everything OS X now, it looks cool, but doesn't seem that much different from OS 9. We'll see. -
11/03/04- Four more years of Willy Wonka..great at making chocolate...not so good as President of the most powerful nation on the planet - 11/02/04- Got a bit ill. Managed to vote anyway. You gotta see Fahrenheit 9/11. - 11/01/04- Rain, rain, rain. - 10/31/04- Happy Halloween ya ghouls & goblins! Worked on the Hot Rod Girls Save The World Trailer mail out most of last week and this weekend, I'm sending out bucket loads of these bad boys- to get the word out that we're makin' a real movie. Also unpacked the garage. Ohh yea... - 10/30/04- Spent the whole day drivin' around looking for printable DVD-R. The computer store that I've ordered from before was out, then I went to the MAC store where I bought this new printer that prints right on CD's & DVD's. Pretty cool, except they don't have the friggin' DVD's with the printable surface on them in stock. So they say go to Office Depot, who says go to Staples, who says go to Best Buy. Nobody has them. Best Buy had the printable DVD+R's, but they don't work in a -R DVD writer. Suckie! And while on the way to the Best Buy place, there was this huge accident on I-5 and it took us 45 minutes to go 5 miles. After we were done shopping at Best Buy, the parking lot was so jammed (nobody knew why it was so jammed) that we (wife & I) bailed by foot and got some grub at Azteca (decent Seattle Mexican Restaurant chain) with the kids. - 10/28/04- Posted the Hot Rod Girls Save The World theatrical trailer at Theatrical Trailer -
10/25/04- Had a great shoot this weekend. Finished a bunch of critical scenes for the Hot Rod Girls Save The World movie. We are about 1/3rd done filming at this point. - 10/21/04- Got the new Troma DVD release "Tales From The Crapper" that was supposed to have some of my music on it (signed a few contacts with Troma). I guess they decided not to use the tracks. That's Hollywood...or is that New Jersey. - 10/19/04- Just got a DVD copy of the Axis Video short film, "The Heist" that used my tune "Last Ride." Very cool. - 10/18/04- Putting the finishing touches on the trailer for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. - 10/17/04- Finished the trailer roughs for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. I will post it on the Go-Kustom website next week. - 10/16/04- Our outdoor shoot for Hot Rod Girls Save The World got rained out today. Looks like rain all weekend. Went to Home Depot and bought the pieces to make the Space Pod for -
10/12/04- Finished writing the Hot Rod Girls Save The World trailer music. -
10/10/04- We had scheduled a regular scene shoot for Hot Rod Girls Save The World, but ended up shooting pick-up shots all afternoon- as one of the actors couldn't make it out and a crew member had the stomach flu. Still we got alot done. - 10/08/04- Working on the Hot Rod Girls Save The World trailer all day. I gave it a 1950's style horror movie look. -
10/07/04- Picked up a new bass stomp box- the Tech 21, SansAmp Bass Driver. Very cool sounding box. Makes a bass sound like it's mic'ed and running through a SVT or Bassman Head. The "presence" control adds alot of high end bite to the tone. Nice. Also began serious writing on a new rock opera I'm penning for the new Kill Switch...Klick performances. It's a lonely space saga. Think Gattaca meets Memento. - 10/05/04- Wrote two new Alternative Endings to Hot Rod Girls Save The World- for the DVD versions. Funny stuff. -
10/04/04- Picked up a AKG D-112 Bass mic. I've wanted one of these for the studio for the last two years, but mic purchases are not the most exciting to make. The D-112 is one of the best mic's you can get to record kick drums and bass guitars. - 10/03/04- More work on the sign reprint (see below). Also getting a schedule ready for the next few months of filming for Hot Rod Girls Save The World 10/02/04- Still unpacking from the big move. Only 24 boxes to go! Also got stuck working on a sign reprint for my wife's arts-school business. This is a real pain in the ass as we already had one sign up- but were forced to take it down by the City as it was "too big." Now I have to re-design the whole thing as well as have a new sign made and apply for all these permits. All this hassle for a little yard sign. The permits cost twice as much as the new sign will! Red tape galore. -
09/26/04- Another great day of filming. Jimmi Davies brought his primer black '65 Chrysler Newport over as Detective LLoyd's (the character he plays) car. Very cool ride. We have over 8 hours of footage now! -
09/20/04- Uploaded a few more stills from last weekends filming to the Hot Rod Film Newsgroup. I will eventually get some more up on the Go-Kustom Films pages. -
09/21/04- Photographer Vetala Hawkins came by to get interviewed for Go-Kustom TV. He has a show of his work currently at The Art Not Termina-l downtown Seattle. -
09/20/04- We had a great weekend of filming Saturday & Sunday (18th & 19th). I feel like we're back on track to getting this movie (Hot Rod Girls Save The World) completed in the not so distant future. - 09/11/04- Working on the trailer for Hot Rod Girls Save The World and still unpacking the studio. It will take awhile to settle in. Man..I just noticed the date. -
- 09/03/04- Forgot- I dropped $175 at the Home Depot yesterday on film lighting. Got mini clamp lights, halogens- all kinds of stuff. "Home Depot the place for all you film making needs!" Thank God for the Home Depot line of credit. - 09/02/04- Finished the old house yesterday, so it could be opened as a pre-school today. Man I'm beat. Monday my wife and I were up until 3AM getting it ready. Every other night we quit around 11PM. But now we have the two children's arts schools up and running. Pretty amazing what you can do with a little elbow grease and a credit line from Home Depot. -
09/01/04- Some pics of my new el cheapo Fender J-Bass and the not completely un-packed studio. The new "Orange Room" as it were. Note the red & white drink cooler as computer work station chair.
08/21/04- Painting, painting, painting...the old house is now alive with vibrant interior colors..ewww baby! - 08/19/04- Supra busy with getting my wife's art school up to state code. Work all day, work all night. Man...I'm burning out. Did manage to write 4 new song bits on the ever portable Korg ESX-1. Wrote the bits in bed before I fell asleep and on my lunch breaks at work. Man that's maximizing the ol' time. Next week I wanna get back in full swing with the filming of Hot Rod Girls Save The World. - 08/08/04- The last two weeks has been friggin' crazy! Besides moving into our new place, my wife runs a arts emphasis pre-school out of our home. I've used my entire vacation building things for the school and getting it up to State Code. We're talking 16 hour days- every day for the last week and a half! I'll be glad when my "vacation" is over. Next week I have to paint our old place...arghhh. - 07/28/04- Man...we've been moving to a new place. I hate moving- except we are gaining hella more room. My recording studio space is double in this new house! Everything is still in boxes and we are simultaneously fixing up our old house to turn into an art school or rental house. Did I mention- I HATE MOVING! - 07/15/04- Finished painting the kids old room- man that was alot of work- and the studio is almost completely packed. Only the Korg ESX, computer and Yamaha CS1-X are unboxed. Man, is moving a pain, but wait until you see the new studio...it's gonna be coooool. - 07/14/04- Sent off an e-mail interview I did with David Kulczyk for Maximum Ink E-Zine. Talked alot about the new movie and TV Show and how hard it is to keep an indie-label running. - 07/06/04- Painting the house and packing...oh what fun. I had to shut down the filming until August to get it all done. - 07/04/04- Went out with a bunch of friends to the Fourth fireworks up in Edmonds, WA. The show was so-so this year. Not as good as last year- but the kids had a blast. - 07/02/04- Packing up the ole' recording studio. We're moving in a few weeks. - 06/30/04- Got a few new toys today...a Korg ESX -1. Very cool little box with a crunchy sound. I'm planning on using it mostly for my new live performance band. I also picked up a Fender J-Bass. It's a Mexican build, but plays as good as any American made Fender I've played. - 06/29/04- Did some editing of Go-Kustom TV. We have a new time slot...Wednesdays at Midnight. That's not a bad. -
06/26/04- Another good day of filming out in Black Diamond, WA. The weather is starting to cooperate. - 06/21/04- Relaxing weekend. My kids made me art stuff for Fathers Day as well as buying me the new Rapture and Mclusky CD's. It was a good Fathers Day weekend. Still looking for locations for the Hot Rod Girls movie. - 06/18/04- Reviewing the Hot Rod Girls Save The World Theme. I need to get a crackin' on that one. -
06/13/04- Another great day of shooting- this time in Olympia. Got all the interiors done for the Hot Rod Shop location for the Hot Rod Girls Save The World movie we're a shootin'. Special thanks to everyone for getting the job done! - 06/11/04- Updating the website. Haven't spent much time on it in the last few weeks. -
06/10/04- Man...we had a great weekend (Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th) filming. Have been too busy to even post anything on these here news pages. We nailed 4 scenes and most of the ending. The weather was on again off again rain which didn't help, but given the circumstances, we kicked ass. Thanks to all the crew for their hard work!!! - 05/27/04- Mclusky is f'in brilliant. Good music is happening again. Also diggin' The Warlocks, The Liars and The Rapture. New Wave reborn. -
05/26/04- Rehearsal for the movie at my house. Jesse, Lindsay, Melene, J, Kimberly, Malcolm all came by. I think we're almost ready to shoot this thing. - 05/14/04- Friday...spent the whole week stressing about a possible law suit I may be filing against a major online music distributor. MP3 phhhhhhh....give me the good ole days with the scratchy LP's & 45's and the crap little record players. Back before the word "copy protect" was invented. Granted the record labels got rich off of many o'musicians sweat and toil- but now nobody gets paid. Not like I create music for a paycheck anyways, but there is something devaluing, when you workon a song for two weeks or more and someone just comes along and downloads it in a few minutes, enjoys it and never pays a dime for the use of it. -
05/09/04- This is a prop sign for Hot Rod Girls movie. Took me 4 hours to make in Illustrator. Still gotta make it look older and cross out the "Boys" and write"Girls" with fake paint marks. Details details details. - 05/05/04- Finished the D.A. Sebasstian & The Inner Demons music video- Evil Undead Girlfiend. A need to make a few adjustments, but it broadcast ready. Finally!!! -
05/02/04- We had our first shoot for the Hot Rod Girls Save The World movie. Went very well. Almost didn't have a location as the place we were scheduled to film at fell through at the last minute. My wife went door to door in Ballard to find a little restaurant that allowed us to film for 4 hours. - 04/17/04- Did some film work for Richard Blake's new indie-film Seattle P.I. over in Issaquah, WA. Got some excellent footage for him as well as some great Kung Fu action shots. - 04/16/04- Working on the Evil Undead Girlfiend song. I had to add a second guitar solo to make it match the music video. I could have written another verse, but really it I needed the extra music in order to use some video footage that adds a sub plot to the music video. So there will probably be two versions of the song. One "Video Edit" version and then the "regular" CD version. - 04/14/04- The Felinas came over to the studio to work on their demo....deja vu. - 04/13/04- The Felinas came over to the studio to work on their demo....deja vu. - 04/12/04- Monday. I have this day job. I do not like to work Sam I Am. Not because I'm lazy, but because it keeps me away from doing what I love, creating. Music, art, video, writing- I live for these things. But alas I cannot make a living doing such. I am 40 years old, but I can't give up. I do what I do. Kinda like a fish has to swim...except a fish doesn't have to have a day job to afford the swim time. This society is all screwed up. Everybody wasting their lives doing things that hate doing, just to keep a roof over their head and a bit o' food in their gullets. Pa-the-tic! So people ask me, "Dude, you have all these CD's out, don't you make any money from that?" I reply, "A little, but not enough to live on." So back to the day job I go... - 04/11/04- Happy Easter ya punks! Anyways so I'm looking through one of the many freebie magazines I get in my mailbox every month- free because I previously advertised with them ($500 in advertisement and all I got was a one year subscription to Butt Rocker Monthly- ha). As I'm looking through the pages of this L.A. based music publication I start to feel down- real down. I see picture after picture of band after band, trying to look pretty, tough or strange. They look like they all came off of some kinda pop music assembly line. Fuckin' sadness. And this magazine who used to feature painters and sculptors and film makers and had original art on every issue- is now just like 100 other music rags. Tons of ads for cookie cutter bands. Double fucking sad. What motivates all these bands to be so average? What are they trying to do? Get famous? Get laid? Impress their Mummy's? I can't figure it. Where is the art? Shouldn't music have some sense of artistic integrity? Are we supposed to be excited by this mediocrity? Are we supposed to rush out and buy the latest NuMetal EBM Hardcore Pop soundtrack, so we can play it in our cars, sing along while we're stuck in miles of traffic, day dreaming of the perfect rockstar breakfast cereal, while we unwittingly kill the planet and the fat guy in the Mini Cooper in front of us? Why am I asking you? Do you understand this crap? - 04/10/04- The Felinas came over to the studio to work on their demo. We got basic tracks for three more songs recorded. Rockin'! -
04/04/04- We did a promo photo shoot for Hot Rod Girls Save The World movie today. Holli Decker was the photographer, with Heather Lewis doing the make-up. Our leads- Melene Marie Brown, Lindsay Calkins and Kimberly Layfield kicked some serious ass, Can't wait to see the final pics. Special thanks to Tony Ririe for letting us use his Hot Rod, Mike Ririe for helping set it up and Ms. Ririe for letting us use her place. - 04/03/04- Haven't posted anything in the last few weeks. Been hella busy editing Go-Kustom TV, having meetings and actor rehearsals for Hot Rod Girls Save The World and editing the music video for my tune Evil Undead Girlfiend. About Go-Kustom TV- we are losing our Friday Midnight time slot starting in June. In fact we will not have a regular time slot and be going to one time only re-runs (2-4 shows a month, at various times). This is so I can put 100 percent into Hot Rod Girls Save The World. We will have a few new episodes for April and May, but then that's it- until the Fall season. The Felina's came by back on March 28th, to start recording their new demo. We got several tracks started. They will finish it up later this month. Also Evil Undead Girlfiend is almost done. The biggest problem has been re-writing the song to use some of the cool footage we shot at the original filming, months and months ago. I don't know how many bands re-write their songs for their music video, but since I'm the video director and the song-writer, I can do what ever I wanna- so naa naa naa. -
03/14/04- Go-Kustom TV went down to The Catwalk to film Burning Hearts Burlesque and Dragstrip Riot. A great show! Unfortunately our batteries went out on the cameras, and I forgot my battery charger! Got some excellent footage, but not enough of DragStrip Riot. The Go-Go Ghouls were on stage with them and we only got one song...next time. - 03/06/04- Christ- got the flu or something real bad late Thursday night. Couldn't even get outta bed yesterday or most of today. This has been like the third time I got sick this winter. I think that's a personal record. Well, at least I'm up and about now. Gotta try and catch up on my e-mail and website orders and stuff. I get no days off anymore. If I'm not workin' my day job, I'm workin' the Go-Kustom. I can't complain...busy is good. -
03/04/04- Had an excellent reading and meeting with Kimberly Layfield for Betty Petty, a lead character of Hot Rod Girls Save The World- the movie we're filming this summer. - 03/03/04- Busy last few weeks. Had another production meeting for our upcoming film- Hot Rod Girls Save The World back on February 29th. The cast is coming together, Still a few more roles to fill. I hope to have all the characters cast by next week. Maybe that's pushin' it, but we've gotta get things ready for rehearsals. Oh yea and I turned 40 last week. What a drag it is gettin' old...actually, unlike that Rolling Stones song, I like it, like it, yes I do. Seems like life experience has tempered me a bit, and given me much more perspective. I guess that is to be expected. Still it is weird thinking that your "little sister" is now 38 years old, and you are now in the "middle zone" of life. - 02/21/04- Revamped sections of the website. Trying to get three distinct sections- Go-Kustom Rekords, Go-Kustom Films & Go-Kustom TV. The problem is having three different navigation priorities, that still work together. I also dropped the next new episode of Go-Kustom TV at the station and did a little editing on the Evil Undead Girlfiend music video. On Evil Undead Girlfiend- I added a real cool synth line from the new Roland SH-32 I just bought. It sounds like old school horror show theme music. - 02/20/04- Alot of people have been asking me about the Go-Kustom Rekords Release Schedule. All I can say is that money is tight as far as new releases go. We have several new CD's that have been waiting, and waiting to come out. Most notably the Girlfiends & She-Devils compilation and The Flathand 5 compilation. The biggest obstacle has been my past CD distributors reluctance to pay me over $3,100 in past sales. This struggle has been going on for nearly 2 years and may be coming to a conclusion. The collection agency I deal with said they are ready to sue and if this enters the courts, then it should be over in a few months. So the short answer is- Girlfiends & She-Devils may come out this summer. The cover art and tracks are all ready, its just a matter of cash flow.ALMOST ALL THE FLATHAND 5 CD IS AVAILABLE AS A DOWNLOAD AT go-kustom.com/mp3.html. As far as the Go-Girls Pin-Up Cards are concerned- the printer who used to make them is no longer doing the size we need- so that program is on hold until we can find a new printer that doesn't cost and arm and a leg and can match the cards already finished in Series Two. - 02/19/04- Revamping Evil Undead Girlfiend. Decided to rewrite the lyrics so they follow the story within the music video more closely. Just a few changes and adding a drum break, but it should allow me to use more of the footage we shot last year. It's hard taking 2 hours of video and compressing it into a 3 minute song, and still keeping a sense of cohesion, both to the original lyrics and music video concept. - 02/17/04- Eric & Dara of Faith & Disease came over to record a quick ambient guitar and vocal tune. They knocked it out in just two hours. - 02/15/04- Lindsay and Melene came over for a script reading & rehearsal. Went well. I then typed all night long and finished the screenplay for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. It's so bad...it's good. -
02/13/04- Friday the 13th....ewwwww. Man- my cats pissed somewhere secret in my studio and I can't find the spot. I think they're having territory wars again. Cats are strange that way, peeing on stuff to claim it. That would be interesting if humans did that. You could like pee on your parking space to claim it for a few days. Hey wait- I saw some guy doin' that the other day behind a bar in the U-District. Drunkards are like cats, they pee all over the place. HA. Anyways I couldn't control myself and bought a Vestax Portable Turntable and new strings for all my guitars and basses. I got the internet buyers remorse. I also spent most of the day writing Hot Rod Girls. I wanna have a finished rough draft of the screenplay for Sundays rehearsal. -
02/12/04- Worked on the screenplay (Hot Rod Girls) all friggin' day. Now I'm to the zombie parts, the B-Budget funky good stuff. Also wrote a new ditty called "My Meat Territory." It only took like 45 minutes to get the guitar part written and recorded to a pre-existing drum machine beat, I had penned months before. I've been thinking about getting a new band together. Something kinda Post-Punk. I also went on a shopping spree and bought a Roland SH-32. I actually want it for the new band as a stand alone synth/sequencer. Ohh yea and I still got a uber cold. This thing won't let go o' my lungs. Cough cough sniff cough. - 02/11/04- Still editing the music video for Evil Undead Girlfiend. It's getting harder, because there is so much good footage- I can't squeeze it all into the 3 minute song. I tried speeding up a few scenes, but they look rushed. Looks like some things that I originally wanted for the songs storyline will have to get cut out. Maybe I'll recut the footage into 1920's style silent short film. - 02/09/04- Cast J Heflin as the character Nell in our upcoming movie- Hot Rod Girls. Still a few more roles to fill, but the main characters are ready for rehearsals which start in a few weeks. -
02/06/04- More editing on the "Evil Undead Girlfiend" music video. This is turning out better than I hoped. -
02/04/04- Did some bank robber graphics for the D.A. Sebastian & The Inner Demons music video, "Evil Undead Girlfiend." In the beginning of the video, Melene Marie Brown plays Lulu Larue, a bank robber gal who gets killed in a bank robbery get away. She is re-animated by a mad scientist and becomes the Evil Undead Girlfiend in the song. These stills are supposed to look like a surveillance camera still, a wanted poster and a pseudo magazine cover . Jesse from Wages Of Sin also came by to finish out their demo mixes. - 02/03/04- Posting on call boards for the remaining Hot Rod Girls characters. Got a few interested actors. Also doing some tweeks on the Wages Of Sin demo. We let it sit for a week so the guys could listen to their CDR's and get some adjustment notes for me. Also finished episode 41 of Go-Kustom TV- an interview with Mors Syphilitica and dumped the raw video footage for the Greenwood Car Show episode in the ole 'puter. Busy busy busy. - 02/02/04- Had a pre-pre-production meeting yesterday for the Hot Rod Girls movie. Looks like we got a good crew and actors. We've got alot to get ready by summers shoot. - 01/30/04- Man- I've been gettin virus laden e-mails by the hundreds! This My Doom worm is a pain in the ass. It can't infect my Mac, but I've been getting 120 e-mails a day with the virus as an attachment. Besides deleting e-mails, I've been working on the screenplay and trying to get my hand working on the guitar again. I pulled tendon over a month ago flipping a tree stump. It's still sore, but I try and work it out every day. I can actually play a power chord again. Couldn't a few weeks ago. - 01/28/04- Working on the screenplay for my first feature film. Page 25 of the first rewrite. Tediously fun. - 01/19/04- Sorting through the Evil Undead Girlfiend video footage. Cutting the video clips to size and omitting bad scenes. I might have this one done in a few weeks. - 01/18/04- Started a Go-Kustom Films section of the website. We are planning on shooting our first feature this summer. So far we are working on editing our second music video and shooting our third. I also have two documentaries in the works. - 01/12/04- Jesse of Wages Of Sin came by the studio to do some guitar and vocals on their demo. The tracks are coming along nicely. -
01/11/04- My day started off a bit nervous as my six year old daughter had a severe allergic reaction to some amoxicillian our family doctor gave her for her strep throat. My wife took her into Childrens Hospital (the best hospital for kids in the US of A - yet another perk of living in Seattle). Once I heard back from her I settled down. Later in the day, the band Wages Of Sin came by to record their demo. We set the drums up in the kitchen, and the rest of the band in the living room. My house is small, but we were able, with a bit of blanket baffling, to get good track separation. We finished all the basic tracking. These guys have a unique sound with drums, upright bass, mandolin, violin, acoustic guitar and vocals. Kinda cajun - rockabilly, with acoustic instruments. I always like recording unique bands- much more fun than typical rock bands. -
01/09/04- So I'm listening to NPR at my day job, and they say that the new Chrysler concept car stole the Detroit Auto Show. Being a diehard Chrysler fan, my interest was stirred. I went home that night, started digging around on the internet and found this (see above pics). The first Chrysler supercar- the ME Four-Twelve, a 248 MPH supercar that is going to be produced this summer! It will be the king of American supercars (Saleen who?). I guess Chrysler was so secretive about it, that only a hand full of designers knew about the project at all. Apparently the automotive world was completely shocked. Ya know- just last week everyone was talking about the new Ford GT as the first true American supercar...with it's accurate retro styling (like the old Shelby race cars of the same name). Man...this bad boy makes the new GT look very old indeed. The Ford and Chevy guys are probably kickin' the dog back at their design studios. Sayin'- "How the hell are we going to compete with that!" With 350 more horses than the GT, four turbo chargers (the Four in the name), a V12 (the Twelve in the name) built by the German uber-builders AMG and true state of the art technology it will set new standards for world supercars. I am misting up just typing this... - 01/08/04- Added a slew of Kill Switch...Klick, Flathand 5 and D.A. Sebasstian MP3 tracks at go-kustom.com/mp3.html - 01/05/04- Spent the rest of the weekend editing Go-Kustom TV shows. Finally got The Bad Things episode finished and started in on the Mors Syphilitica footage I shot over a year ago. I don't know how that tape didn't get edited yet. I have a few tapes that get set aside and lost in the shuffle. Well- it'll be ready next month. I bought a Panasonic AGDVX 100 yesterday and also started shopping for movie mics. I wanna get serious about my film making and video production. Had to take a line of credit on our house which, given the slow economic recovery in Washington State, is kinda scary. But ya know- I gotta go with my passion and hope for the best. Otherwise- whats the point of living? - 01/03/04- Cleaning old files off the website disc. Man- 6 hours worth of loading and erasing...my eyes are blurry and tired...time to go to sleeeeeep. - 01/01/04- And another year begins. 1999 NEWS - 2000 NEWS - 2001 NEWS - 2002NEWS - 2003 NEWS - 2004 NEWS - 2005 NEWS - 2006 NEWS - 2007NEWS - 2008 NEWS |
